Dr Pravat Kumar Dash MD DM FACC (Head of the Department)
Dr Dash has over 20 years of experience in clinical cardiology and residency program training. He is a life member of the Cardiology Society of India, Pediatric Cardiology Society of India and the Interventional Cardiology Society. He received the “Rashtriya Rattan Award” for his contribution to the field of medicine in India in 2008.

Prior to his joining SSSIHMS Bangalore in 2001, he was the Head of the Department of Cardiology at our sister institution in Prashantigram, Andhra Pradesh. His primary interests lie in clinical and interventional cardiology and is actively involved in all our training programs.

Dr Banajit Barooah ABIM (USA) FACC (Senior Consultant)
Dr Barooah was previously Clinical Instructor of Medicine (Cardiology) at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, NJ and the Chief of the Cardiac Invasive Lab at Selma Medical Centre, Alabama,USA. He was an Assistant Professor in the department of Family Practices and Cardiology, UAB, Birmingham (USA), and an examiner for the Alabama medical licensing board.

Dr Barooah has been serving at SSSIHMS Bangalore since its inception in 2001 and his primary interests lie in Echocardiography and Mitral Valvuloplasties. He is actively involved in the residency and fellowship training programs.

Dr Srikanth Sola MD FACC FAHA (Consultant)
Dr. Sola completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University, his residency training in Internal Medicine at Duke University Medical Centre, and Fellowship in Cardiology at Emory University school of Medicine, Atlanta. He then served as a staff Cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic, the leading heart institute in the United States. He joined SSSIHMS-Bangalore as a full time faculty in 2008.

He was named as “One of America’s top cardiologists” by the Consumer Research Council of America in 2006-2007, “Who’s Who in Science and Engineering” from 2005-2008, and “Who’s Who in America” from 2004-2008. His primary interests lies in general clinical cardiology, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI. He is actively involved in research in cardiovascular medicine and has published extensively in his area of expertise.
